Enjoy a day on the water or a night’s stay with panoramic views from the center of Newport, Rhode Island’s picturesque harbor upon the Belafonte. This newly restored vintage houseboat by designer Kristen Coates and artist Chris Wyllie features a built-in queen size bed and separate sleeping quarters for 2 in the convertible wheelhouse, an Eco-friendly electric head and alfresco dining on the upper deck for 12 guests!
Our unique floating apartment allows guests of all levels of boating experience to enjoy entertaining as the Belafonte remains on the mooring. Shuttle in and out of downtown Newport with complimentary launch service (water taxi) provided by Old Port Marine.

In an effort to be more conscious of island living and our impact on the environment, the Belafonte is primarily powered by solar panels and batteries thus removing home luxuries such as hot water, refrigeration and 9 volt outlets.
Local Transportation: From NYC: Amtrak to Kingston, RI. We can pick you up there if it’s scheduled in advance or give you a list of taxi companies servicing the area. We have one parking spot.
We host sunset cocktail parties, spa days, traditional bed and breakfast for overnight stays or just rent it for a day on the water!
