The Belafonte

I quit my job and bought a boat.

Everything Newport we love

Our art gallery is Art & Happiness at 136 Bellevue Avenue.  We love Ben Butler, also on Bellevue and Blink on Spring Street.

Best coffee - Coffee Grinders (most convenient), Empire (If you’re looking for a walk)

We often go to Bella’s at the Shipyard for breakfast.  The food is nothing special, but the location is beautiful on a summer day.

Best grocery - A Market

Best deli - Blue Rocks

Best parks for picnics and a nice moment of rest: Mill Street, Queen Anne Square, Ballard Park, Rivinsky

Most talked about tourist attraction that lives up to the hype:  Cliff Walk.  After spending many of my 30 years here I am still amazed every time I visit and make the trek.

Most interesting places: IYRS, Newport Art Museum, Ben Butler Gallery, Shipyard, Fort Adams, the monkey seat,

Amazing wine & spirit selection and free dockside delivery ($50 minimum) - Bellevue Wine & Spirits

Best Lunch & best taco - El Perrito

Best place to stop for a drink mid-afternoon - 22 Bowen’s

Best Pizza - Fifth Element, also best place to get very drunk on a Friday night

Best Italian - Pasta Beach

Best $5 glass of prosecco and all around family restaurant - Brick Alley Pub

Romantic dinner - Fluke

Delicious dinner - TSK, Tellulah

Great night scene and where you can find us on weekends when we’re not in NYC - Clarke Cooke House … also a perfect place for brunch to rid the night before’s hangover.

Best home goods - Venettuci & Design Newport

Best designer resale shopping (maybe in the world considering the prices) - Wish (and they just opened up a children’s store next door!)

Best vintage and costume - Closet Revival

Favorite place for gifts - Newport Museum Store, Pleasant Surprise

Best General

Casey’s Marina

Ace Hardware on Bellevue Avenue

Newport Nautical near the rotary for marine supply - we would not have completed the Belafonte without them.

!!! We really love this town!!!
